For this weeks assignment we needed to take a bunch of photographs with the DSLR camera we were given in class with the highest resolution pixel width and height. Then we chose two of images we felt were the most visually compelling. We cropped a copy of one of the images in a 1920 px by 1080 px and the other 5" x 7". After this we adjusted the images.
For the 1920 px by 1080 px I adjusted the colors of the leaves using an adjustment layer. On another layer I tried to make the bricks in the background appear more vibrant without making the enitre image as a whole become more vibrant. I was attempting to give off a sci-fi vibe and was playing with the adjustments and when I changed the colors of the leaves that's when I ran with this idea. I really liked how it came out, I was nervous it would look too unreal but personally I think it gives off the sci-fi nature will still feeling somewhat realistic.
For the 5" x 7" image I adjusted it by changing the saturation, exposure, and color to make it give off a vintage look, like something you would see in the 70s or 80s. I knew I wanted to give off a washed look from the start due to the nature of the photograaph. So along with increasing the saturation I also decreased exposure. Finally i selected certain images like the food truck, changed their color slightly and made them brighter. I thought the final product is something that looks like an 80s crime film and i was happpy with the result.
