Creative Statement
Video editing has been a huge passion of mine since I was 13 years old. Over the years I have developed a keen eye for editing and have honed my skills to the best of my ability. I've also obtained excellent time managment and ensure all my videos be finished promoptly without lack of quality. Over the years I have made 4 episodes for the Youtube reality series "The Grind- Youth Wrestlings Reality TV Show", I've made numerous web advertisments, short form video essays, and have worked on several professional level broadcast productions with Lorraine Gregory Communications. Working in the video production field is something I've always known I've wanted to do so I arranged my education around that in mind. I have taken many media courses that have helped me develop not only as a video editor but as a media maker overall. Even in classes where we don't learn about video production, I still gain incredible knowledge about media and the media industry. I can incoroprate skills I've learned from all my media classes into my video editing work. In MEDP 1500, I learned aspects of photoshop, illustrator, animation, photography principles, html and css code. These skills will be crucial in my career and having knowledge in all of them makes me that much better as a video editor. Being a student of media as a whole, not just video, allows me to think more creatively and expands my technical abilities.
